The annual ESMO2023 Congress in Madrid

This year, over 40,000 doctors participated in the annual ESMO2023 Congress in Madrid.

Among them was Inesa Guivanuk, an oncology surgeon at the National Cancer Institute and President of the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance, who presented the research results on the first year of the intergovernmental initiative for patient evacuation for treatment abroad.

The National Cancer Institute also presented three poster presentations at the congress:

• Barriers and facilitators of physician involvement in clinical oncology database management in Ukraine: This research explores the factors that influence doctors' participation in database management.
• Two wars at a time. Fight against cancer during wartime. Experience of Ukraine: This study investigates Ukraine's experience in cancer treatment during times of war.
• War and the fragility of anticancer drug supply networks in Ukraine: This research focuses on the availability of anti-cancer medications in the context of war.

These presentations address important issues related to the current situation in oncology due to the ongoing war.
