Fully make the most of the opportunities!

Patients from Ukraine have been given the opportunity to continue their treatment in Poland - as mentioned in a joint article by Ukrainian and Polish gynecologic oncologists in the "International Journal of Gynecological Cancer" BMJ.

The Polish Society of Gynecologic Oncology has started coordinating the treatment of Ukrainian patients with gynecologic cancers. With the onset of the war in Ukraine, the structure of medical care has undergone significant changes. While most patients come from the eastern and central regions, hospitals in western Ukraine have taken on the majority of cancer treatment.

Several volunteer groups help transport patients to neighboring countries if needed. The project aims to coordinate the arrival of patients in Poland, their accommodation in facilities where they receive appropriate treatment and support. Thanks to the close collaboration between doctors on both sides of the border, patients are not left without oncological care.
